ACP’s International Fellowship Exchange Program (IFEP)

ACP’s International Fellowship Exchange Program (IFEP) provides opportunities for early and mid-career internists from outside the United States and Canada to participate in a one-month observership to enhance expertise in prevention, diagnosis, and/or management of clinical issues in Internal Medicine and the subspecialties.

Each year the ACP International Council selects the highest qualified candidates from various countries to participate. We are currently accepting applications for the 2019-2020 program year and we hope you will spread the word to qualified SEMI members. Funding is available for awardees.

Program highlights include:

  • Participate in a one-month fellowship at an academic medical institution in the United States or Canada, preferably in March/April 2020.
  • Engage in individual and group clinical and educational experiences and discussions.
  • Implement an independent project in their home country post Fellowship.
  • Attend ACP’s Internal Medicine Meeting 2020 in Los Angeles, California, following the fellowship period. At this premier scientific meeting in internal medicine, fellows will benefit from the educational courses, share experiences with colleagues, and be recognized for their award.

The deadline for submission of applications is August 1, 2019. Information about the program, including the online application form, can be found on ACP’s website at If you have any questions, please contact Emily Seeling at
